Google Drive Import

Connect a Drive folder and sync files on a schedule.

Google Drive import watches a connected folder and imports new documents on a schedule. It is available on Growth and Scale plans.

When to use it

  • Your team already stores documents in Google Drive
  • Scanners or automations drop files into a shared folder
  • You want scheduled batch intake without writing code

Configure after creation

The Add Workflow wizard only selects Google Drive. You must connect the account and folder after the workflow is created:

  1. Go to Workflows.
  2. Find the workflow.
  3. Open the Actions menu (three dots).
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Open the Import tab.
  6. Confirm Import Method is Google Drive.
  7. Choose a Sync Interval.
  8. Set Attachment Types.
  9. Click Connect Google Drive or Select Folder.
  10. Choose the source folder.
  11. Click Save Changes.

Sync interval

Choose how often the folder is checked:

Interval Best for
15 minutes Frequent intake
30 minutes Regular batches
1 hour Standard automation
6 hours Low-volume sources
12 hours Twice-daily checks
1 day Daily batch processing
5 days Rarely updated folders

Attachment types

Set the file types that should be imported from the folder. Unsupported files stay out of the workflow.

Connection status

If the Google Drive connection cannot be verified, the Import tab shows a warning and a Re-authenticate action. Reconnect before relying on scheduled imports again.

Last sync

Scheduled imports show Last sync on the Files page. Use it to check whether the folder is being scanned successfully.

Folder guidance

  • Use one Google Drive folder per workflow.
  • Avoid mixing unrelated document types in one folder.
  • Confirm the connected account has access to the folder.
  • Upload a small test batch before sending production volume.

Common issues

Issue Fix
Files are not appearing Check Last sync, folder access, and workflow active status.
