FTP/SFTP import pulls documents from a remote folder on a schedule. It is available on Growth and Scale plans.
When to use it
- A partner or legacy system drops files on an FTP server
- Your scanner exports to a remote folder
- You need scheduled batch imports without an API integration

- Open the Actions menu (three dots).
- Click Edit.
- Open the Import tab.
- Confirm Import Method is FTP/SFTP Import.
- Choose Protocol.
- Enter host, port, username, password, and folder path.
- Click Test.
- Set Sync Interval and Attachment Types.
- Decide whether to delete files from source after import.
- Click Save Changes.
Protocol and ports
| Protocol | Default port |
|---|---|
| FTP | 21 |
| FTPS | 990 |
| SFTP | 22 |
The UI updates the default port when the protocol changes. Confirm the value with your server administrator.
Required fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Host | Server hostname, for example ftp.example.com. |
| Port | Server port. |
| Username | Login user. |
| Password | Login password. |
| Folder Path | Remote folder path, for example /incoming. |
Test connection
Click Test before saving. A success icon confirms the app can reach the server with the current settings.
If the test fails, check:
- Host and port
- Protocol
- Username and password
- Folder path
- Firewall or allowlist rules
Delete after import
Enable Delete from source FTP after import only when you want Foxello to remove files from the remote folder after successful import.
Leave it off if another system needs to keep the original files.
Sync interval and file types
FTP import uses the same sync interval options as Google Drive. Set Attachment Types to control which remote files are imported.
Limits
Up to 50 files are imported per sync run.
See Uploading and Imports for how imported files appear in the Files list.
