Configure where extracted data goes after processing. The Add Workflow wizard chooses the export destination; it cannot be changed later, so to use a different one, create a new workflow. Detailed setup happens after creation in the workflow editor.
Configure export after creation
If you choose an export destination other than Web, finish setup after the workflow is created:
- Go to Workflows.
- Find the workflow in the table.
- Open the Actions menu (three dots).
- Click Edit.
- Open the Export tab.
- Configure the destination-specific settings.
- Click Save Changes.
API export can use a webhook URL for push delivery or the Foxello API endpoints for pull/download. Google Drive export needs a connected folder, and FTP export needs server credentials.
Available destinations
| Destination | Status | Plan | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web | Available | All plans | Manual download from the Files screen. See Web export. |
| API | Available | Growth, Scale | Push to your webhook URL or pull results from the Foxello API. See API export. |
| Google Drive | Available | Growth, Scale | Export files to a connected folder. See Google Drive export. |
| FTP Server | Available | Growth, Scale | Upload results to a remote folder. See FTP export. |
| Zapier | Available | All plans | Send results to Zapier automations through an integration. See Zapier and n8n. |
| n8n | Available | All plans | Send results to n8n workflows through an integration. See Zapier and n8n. |
| QuickBooks | Coming soon | Growth, Scale | Direct export to QuickBooks. |
| OneDrive | Coming soon | Growth, Scale | Export to a connected folder. |
| Dropbox | Coming soon | Growth, Scale | Export to a connected folder. |
| Box | Coming soon | Growth, Scale | Export to a connected folder. |
Advanced export destinations (API, Google Drive, and FTP) require a Growth or Scale plan. Zapier and n8n work on every plan.
Export triggers
| Trigger | When export runs |
|---|---|
| After Review | After a reviewer approves the file (or immediately if review is automatic). |
| After Extraction | As soon as extraction completes, without waiting for review. |
| Scheduled | On a cron schedule (for example every Monday at 9 AM). |
Use After Review when validation is required. Use After Extraction for fully automated pipelines.
Export formats
| Format | Starter | Growth | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| JSON | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| CSV | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Excel (.xlsx) | No | Yes | Yes |
PDF and XML export are on the roadmap and not yet available. OCR-only workflows may limit format options. Web export, API export, Zapier, and n8n don't ask for a format: with Web export you choose the format when you download, API export always uses JSON, and Zapier and n8n receive the extracted fields.
Web export
- Set Web Export as the destination.
- Choose JSON, CSV, or Excel based on your plan.
- Download from the file detail view or Files list when status is processed, approved, or exported.
API export
API export supports two patterns:
- Push - Foxello sends structured data to your webhook URL via HTTP POST.
- Pull - your system uses Foxello API endpoints to check status and download results.
- Set API Export as the destination.
- Enter your Webhook URL on the Export tab if using push delivery.
- Choose the export format (JSON, CSV, or Excel).
For pull delivery, use https://api.foxello.com/api/v1/file/status/{fileId} and https://api.foxello.com/api/v1/file/download/{fileId} after upload.
Google Drive export
- Set Google Drive as the destination.
- Connect your account and select the target folder.
- Choose the export format.
Exported files are written to the connected folder on each export run.
FTP export
- Set FTP Server as the destination.
- Enter connection credentials and target folder path.
- Click Test to verify the connection.
- Choose the export format.
Coming soon destinations
QuickBooks, OneDrive, Dropbox, and Box are visible in the workflow UI but not yet available for production use. See Coming soon export destinations.
Pull vs push
| Pattern | Destinations |
|---|---|
| Pull (you fetch data) | Web export, API download endpoint |
| Push (we send data) | API webhook export, Google Drive, FTP |
For API pull access, see API Integration.
