FTP export uploads processed results to a remote FTP, FTPS, or SFTP folder. It is available on Growth and Scale plans.
When to use it
- A downstream system imports files from an FTP folder
- A partner requires files delivered to a remote server
- You need scheduled or trigger-based file delivery without a custom API
Configure after creation
The Add Workflow wizard only selects FTP Server. You must add server settings after the workflow is created:
- Go to Workflows.
- Find the workflow.
- Open the Actions menu (three dots).
- Click Edit.
- Open the Export tab.
- Confirm Export Destination is FTP Server.
- Choose Protocol.
- Enter host, port, username, password, and folder path.
- Click Test.
- Choose export format.
- Click Save Changes.
Protocol and ports
| Protocol | Default port |
|---|---|
| FTP | 21 |
| FTPS | 990 |
| SFTP | 22 |
Confirm the server protocol and port with the receiving system.
Required fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Host | Server hostname, for example ftp.example.com. |
| Port | Server port. |
| Username | Login user. |
| Password | Login password. |
| Folder Path | Destination directory, for example /outgoing. |
Test connection
Use Test before saving. A success icon confirms the app can connect to the destination.
If the test fails, check credentials, folder permissions, protocol, port, and firewall rules.
Export format
Choose JSON, CSV, Excel, or PDF depending on plan access and the destination system requirements.
Best practices
- Use a dedicated outgoing folder for each workflow.
- Confirm the receiving system can read the selected file format.
- Use SFTP when possible.
- Test with one document before sending production volume.
